Police Officer for the City of Los Angeles since May 1979 - Assigned to Metropolitan Division, Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team in April of 1985.   As a Team Leader, I have performed duties and participated in hundreds of SWAT-related incidents (1000+).   These duties include: Responding to and resolving Barricaded Suspect incidents, Barricaded/Hostage incidents, preparing and serving of High-Risk Arrest and Search Warrants, providing security to V.I.P.'s visiting Los Angeles (e.g., President of the United States, foreign Heads of State, etc.), responding to alleged terrorist activity with both local and international overtones, coordinating tactical operations with negotiation teams to defeat those threats and other overt terrorist activity, and providing training to both LAPD Officers and SWAT team personnel.

Consultant experience includes: Director of L.E.A.D. Consultants - formed in 1993. Instructor and Firearms Chairperson for the National Tactical Officer's Association (NTOA), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), United States Department of Energy at their Central Training Academy (DOE/CTA), International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), United States, Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Anti-terrorist Assistance Program (ATAP) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

I have testified in State and Federal Court as an expert in police related tactics, use of force, delayed reaction time, negotiations, ejection patterns, the TASER device and a variety of SWAT related procedures.
