A Senior Consultant for L.E.A.D. Consultants and a recently retired member of the Los Angeles Police Department Special Weapons And Tactics team.

Rick was a Police officer for the City of Los Angeles from Feb 1971 to Aug 2006. Rick was assigned to the Metropolitan Division, Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team for over 20-years. When Rick retired he was the senior Team Leader.  That assignment included: responding to barricaded suspect incidents, barricaded/hostage incidents, preparing and serving of high-risk arrest and search warrants, providing security to V.I.P.'s visiting Los Angeles (e.g., President of the United States, foreign Heads of State, etc.), responding to alleged terrorist activity with both local and international overtones, coordinating tactical operations with negotiation teams to defeat these threats and other overt terrorist activity, developing site surveys of Foreign Consulate offices and other critical sites within the Los Angeles area, and providing training to SWAT team personnel.

Consultant experience includes: National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), California P.O.S.T. Instructor - Schoolyard violence. Trainer for the Los Angeles Police Department Special Weapons And Tactics team (LAPD SWAT) as well as numerous visiting police and military personnel.
